AVATARS is a collection of virtual heroes. The very same hero figures that are controlled and guided through digital battles by home users as well as by professional gamers. Without an avatar there is no more pilot, no more human body in front of the screen. All heroic moments are created within the virtual space and all the magic of these constellations depends on a fast internet connection. The available heroes are monsters, cuddle some strange beings, attractive women or knights and druids. The photographs originate from a huge tournament in South Korea where the stadiums used giant LED screens and broadcast the matches to a wide audience. We are dealing in these pictures not with screen shots but with photographs of these enormous LED surfaces.
